8 Top Tips for Positive Mindset from Greg O’Shea

1. Get Your Body Right

The mind and the body are intertwined, so think of them as a team. Make sure to get your sleep, diet, and hydration right so your body is feeling good which in turn will help your mind to be in a more positive state.

2. Exercise

Exercise has loads of benefits, such as the release of endorphins and getting you fitter. Try to exercise at least 2-3 times a week for at least 20mins. This differs between people but aim to get your heart rate up i.e. you're hot and sweaty. Look good, feel good!

3. Routine

Have a daily routine. Try to wake up and go to sleep at roughly the same time every day. Also, try to eat meals at roughly the same times. This gives your mind familiarity and helps you to use your time more efficiently.

4. Daily Goals List

Try writing down everything you want to get done for the day. Anything from scheduling a meeting to taking out the bins. This gives you a focus throughout the day. Every time you tick something off the list, you'll get a little dopamine hit and feel more productive.

5. Gratitude

Try to take a minute every day to write down 2 or 3 things you are grateful for. It can be something small like having a good sleep or even something big like getting a promotion at work. This will make you more appreciative of what you have and where you are in life.

6. Surround yourself with positivity

You are what you see and hear every day. Surround yourself with good energy, such as positive podcasts, funny videos, books, the people you always feel better after speaking to them. Try to avoid energy-sapping things or people, they will only bring you down and affect your mindset.

7. Resetting Yourself

When you feel yourself getting worked up or frustrated, stop what you are doing and take a few deep breaths. Think about how you will only be affecting your own day if you lose your cool. If whatever it is won't matter in a year, why let it mess up your day!

8. Treat Yourself

Don't forget to treat yourself. If you've worked hard and hit your daily targets, allow yourself to have a treat or relax. You're only human and life is supposed to be enjoyed!
